BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala. (AP) — Isaias surged toward the U.S. Gulf Coast on Thursday as the first hurricane of the Atlantic season, prompting mandatory evacuations, school closures and local government shutdowns in parts of Florida, Mississippi and Alabama.
